A truck driver training recently announced a new offering that will provide guidance for drivers on the Compliance, Safety & Accountability program created by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration through a web-based training format.

The new FleetFusion program created by the Great American Insurance GroupÂ’s Trucking Division will give motor carriers managing an independent contractor division three different options to improve trucking safety, among a wide range of other options.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's "blame truck drivers first" policy is receiving criticism from leaders at the American Trucking Association, which believes all crashes should not be seen as the drivers fault.

At the upcoming 2012 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 22 to 24, WABCO plans to showcase some of its breakthroughs in technology that will help trucking companies with truck driving safety, driver effectiveness and environmental sustainability.

With the Trucking Safety Council of British Columbia recently releasing its safety video Preparing for Work, the council is stressing the importance safe practices when manually handling loads and carrying heavy equipment.

High gas prices affect all industries

According to The Associated Press, the rising gas prices are threatening economic growth across the United States, with many companies in the transportation industry unable to create jobs due to the high gas prices.

With the regulations set to have trucker to record the amount of hours they are on the road created to improve trucker health, many drivers are failing to be honest with their hours driven in order to complete their routes.

A move that could drastically improve trucking safety came courtesy of the U.S. Senate, which recently passed the two-year, $109 billion, Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21), which is an effort to save lives, reduce injuries and save billions of dollars.

Recent restrictions put forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration have barred truckers from using handheld mobile phones since the beginning of the new year.

A local truck driver training school in California promises to give prospective truckers the appropriate CDL training within 30 days to enter these professionals into the workforce.
