Some states are implementing specific safety departments to ensure that truckers and other motorists are protected on the nation's highways.

Truckers need to do their jobs, as do the state troopers and police officers who monitor the nation's highways.

The amount that freight trucks are legally allowed to haul is an ongoing debate nationwide.

The recent statements made by President Barack Obama about increased job opportunities made national headlines, but he also addressed several other initiatives during his speech that may affect the future of the trucking industry.

Although the plan had been set for new regulations for commercial drivers crossing the border between the U.S. and Mexico, no new regulations have gone into effect yet.

Illinois is making great strides towards ensuring a higher level of trucking safety on the state's highways.
