Specific states sanction trucking regulation organizations

Some states are implementing specific safety departments to ensure that truckers and other motorists are protected on the nation's highways. For example, Texas has the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Service (CVE), which works alongside regulations implemented by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to monitor the weight and equipment status on commercial trucks, warrants that they are within compliance.
