Specific states sanction trucking regulation organizations

Created: Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 04:01 pm

Some states are implementing specific safety departments to ensure that truckers and other motorists are protected on the nation's highways. For example, Texas has the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Service (CVE), which works alongside regulations implemented by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to monitor the weight and equipment status on commercial trucks, warrants that they are within compliance.

This organization is separate from the Texas Highway Patrol, which also makes sure laws are being obeyed on the roadways. However, the CVE specifically focuses on the commercial trucks themselves to make sure both truck drivers and fleet management owners are staying within the rules.

Tragic things can go wrong if trucks do not stay within laws. Accidents can occur between truckers and motorists, which could be prevented by these state groups that fix the issues before they cause irreversible consequences.

Truckers who are navigating roads in various states while hauling freight may want to research the different organizations that are monitoring the routes. Although many of the laws hold true nationwide, there may be a few changes that could put some trucks out of regulation.
