Many truck drivers are so focused on delivering their loads on time that they sometimes forget to make routine safety checks on their vehicles.

When most people think of CSA 2010, they assume that these new regulations apply primarily to semi-trailer truck operators.

As part of CSA 2010, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will be sending letters to commercial vehicle operators who are above threshold in one or more categories that are outlined in the new regulations.

CSA 2010 - which was implemented last month - includes several new mandates for safety directors and their fleets.

Although many small trucking organizations attempted to stall the launch of CSA 2010, the program has been launched on schedule, The Trucker reports.
