The U.S. Department of Transportation recently created a new proposal for a test program for a cross-border trucking provision of the North American Free Trade Agreement, The San Antonio Express-News.

Most companies are diligent concerning trucking safety. Many require their operators to take online truck driver safety training in order to stay up-to-date with the trends that impact the industry.

Some drivers still against EOBRs

Many owner-operators are against the electronic on-board recorders (EOBR) proposal from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

As rain continues to hit the Midwest, many towns are racing to protect cities from flooding. For instance, in Valley City, North Dakota a 24-hour trucking operation of nearly 100-vehicles has brought drivers into town in an effort to save the city from record breaking river levels, news station WDAY reported.

The American Trucking Associations (ATA) recently released its 2011 edition of its American Trucking Trends publication, which highlights the progression of the freight hauling industry.
