Truck driver awards handed out
Ryder Systems' most recent "Driver of the Year" awards were handed out to three drivers who have combined to drive for 117 years and showcased their ability to execute trucking safety for more than 10 million miles.
"Our Driver of the Year winners exemplify an unwavering commitment to working and driving safely, and delivering outstanding service," said Greg Swienton, chairman and CEO of Ryder Systems. "These drivers have a tremendous responsibility to deliver for customers while ensuring the safety of their coworkers and the communities where they operate."
The winning drivers this year were James Estepp, who was named Ryder’s Dedicated Contract Carriage Driver of the Year; Terry Elliot, who was rewarded in the Driver of the Year for Ryder’s Fleet Management Solutions; and James Hendrix, who was given the award for Ryder’s Dedicated Contract Carriage Driver of the Year.
According to Land Line Magazine, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association recently handed out recognition for its Safe Driving Award Program, which was designed to show appreciation to OOIDA members for their excellence in truck driving.
