New program aids truckers in adhering to compliance and safety
Vehicle inspectors and trucking companies are working together to ensure truck driving safety and protect all motorists who use the nation's highways. Recently, a technology company has developed new programs that will help both fleet management owners and inspectors have an easier job of regulating big rigs and their drivers, Fleet Owner reports.
The Inspection Management System designed by Vigillo enables fleet managers to collect data from previous inspections of their trucks, and allows the information to be used to avoid future violations that coincide with issues in CSA 2010 compliance and past CDL training coursework.
Steven Bryan, chief executive officer of Vigillo, said that this product may help streamline the work performed by inspectors who regulate the trucking industry.
"Every year, motor carriers operating in the United States are subjected to hundreds of thousands of roadside inspections that contain millions of violations attributed to almost five million drivers," he told the news source.
The first trucking company to try this program is Schneider International. According to the organization's website, this business specializes in freight hauling logistics for several fortune 500 companies throughout the nation.
