National Truck Driver Appreciation Week held for dedicated drivers next month
For seven days in September, the efforts of truckers will be honored during the National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. Sponsored by the American Trucking Association (ATA), this event aims to recognize those whose livelihood helps haul important materials across the nation in a secure and professional manner.
Many of these drivers have gone through vigorous recurrent hazmat training coursework or trucking safety classes to ensure the protection of themselves and fellow motorists who use the nation's highways every day. This is the third year in a row that the ATA will host offerings and contests open to everyone who appreciates the efforts of truckers.
The ATA introduced an additional program to coincide with this week of recognition. Amateur videographers are encouraged to enter a contest to express why truck driving has had a positive impact on their lives. Anyone involved in the trucking industry in encouraged to enter, including suppliers, drivers and family members.
Those interested in viewing the contest's entrants can search YouTube under the tag "ATATrucksBringIt." The deadline for the competition is September 21st.
