Created: Friday, March 23rd, 2012 02:01 pm

At NAFA Fleet Management Association's upcoming 2012 Institute & Expo in St. Louis, the company will reward its first Safety Leadership Award winners, who will be recognized for their excellence in providing an environment for trucking safety.

The winners that will be recognized at the expo include U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, Jack Hanley, executive director of Network of Employers for Traffic Safety and Janet Froetscher, president and CEO of the National Safety Council

"During Secretary LaHood’s term, Ray has greatly increased public awareness on the dangers of distracted driving, pushed to improve auto safety, developed and enforced valuable safety regulations, and served as a tireless advocate against drunk driving," said NAFA’s Executive Director Phillip Russo. "His work is a testament to the importance of safe driving."

A recent release from NAFA shows that the upcoming expo is already sold out, and company official believe it will have the highest attendance within the past seven years.

Russo said he expects the expo to be one of the most successful in years, due to the company's strong educational program, the strategic location of the event and the potential business that may take place.
