Log InFHP wants a safe environment for truckers
At a recent conference held by the Florida Highway Patrol, the entity established that drivers who cut off a truck could face a costly fine through the second phase of Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks.
"The campaign aims to reduce commercial motor vehicle-related crashes, injuries and fatalities by combining outreach and education with targeted enforcement activities to raise awareness among car and truck drivers about safe driving behaviors," said FHP Director Colonel David Brierton. "We are pleased to partner with the Florida Trucking Association on this safety campaign."
From March 30 to April 4, Florida's state troopers will make a concerted effort to make examples of those who impair truck driving safety. The campaign will also take advantage of outdoor and radio advertisements to demonstrate safe driving measures.
The FHP also made another effort to improve driving safety in the state with its recent Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, which the entity enacted over the St. Patrick's Day holiday weekend.
The campaign aimed to address impaired driving, enforce seat belt laws and ticket driver's for speeding on the state's highways.
