Contests held to recognize truck driving safety
The workers who supply truck parts throughout the country have an important job of ensuring that the lives of truck drivers are kept safe with efficient vehicles. Schneider International, a leading tire supply company, recognizes the significance of safety and is holding a contest for its staff members that will identify those who are the best, reports Tire Review.
More than $10,000 in prizes will be awarded during the Bristol or Bust Tire Challenge to employees who are the most knowledgeable about maintaining tires on the road. The grand prize will send a driver to two local racecar events with all expenses paid.
Tires go through significant wear and tear, especially in the hot summer months when asphalt can heat up and damage rubber. This occurs more frequently than when the weather is cold.
Other companies are also holding contests to honor drivers and businesses who are working hard during the humid season.
According to Trucking Info, the Arizona Trucking Association and the Arizona Transportation Education Foundation awarded several fleet management companies who had the lowest accident rates in the state.
