Companies join together to fight distracted driving
Distracted driving has been an issue for truckers over the past years, and in an effort to improve truck driving safety, a commercial driving school with locations in the Northeast recently joined with the Commercial Vehicle Training Association to curb the problem, reported New Jersey On-Line.
As part of a government initiative to address distracted driving, representatives from the commercial driving school set up camp in front of the Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C., joining members of the CVTA and the American Trucking Associations reported the news source.
According to the source, Anne Ferro, a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration official, asked participants at the event to put a bumper sticker on their vehicles that said "One Text or Call Could Wreck It All," which she believes will further promote the fight against distracted driving.
Michigan Live also worked on project aimed at reducing the amount of distracted drivers on roads in the United States.
The news source composed a five-day series of articles outlining the dangers of distracted driving and describing some of the bad accidents that distracted driving has caused in the state.
