Traffic conditions are a huge issue for fleet management logistics and truckers that navigate the nation's highways. The biggest areas of congestion are constantly being observed to see what solutions can be created to streamline the freight hauling process, which is essential to the fabric of American livelihood.

Recently, the American Transportation Research Institute and the Federal Highway Administration named the most congested areas in the country, which prove to be the worst places for truckers to be, reports Trucking Info. At the top of the list was the intersection of I-290 and I-90 in Chicago, which has been the site of many tragic accidents over the years.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, the average driver traveled only 29 miles per hour though this hazardous route, which cases further traffic and danger to those using the highway.

Truckers should try to avoid these high-traffic areas when possible, especially if they are new drivers who have just completed their CDL training. Ensuring trucking safety is the often the number one goal of trucking companies, so either driving around these roads or navigating them carefully is essential for the protection of truckers and other motorists.
