Big names in trucking support ongoing safety programs

The American Trucking Associations (ATA) often take center stage when it comes to advocating safety regulations within the trucking industry. Recently, two big trucking companies also decided to add their support to ongoing efforts in trucking safety to benefit those involved in the industry, reports Transport Topics.

Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks have both made commitments to stay involved in the safety implementations organized by the ATA for next year. For example, Volvo will continue to participate in the ATA’s America’s Road Team program, which gives accomplished truckers a platform to share their achievements and safety tips with others.

According to Trucking Info, Mack Trucks has focused on the ATA’s Share the Road Initiative. This program helps give regular motorists information on how to safety navigate around big rigs while on the road.

“At Mack, we salute not only these drivers who continue to deliver life-saving messages across the country, but also the fleet they work for who encourage them to participate in Share the Road,” Kevin Flaherty, senior vice president of Mack Trucks, said in a statement.
