Created: Wednesday, February 29th, 2012 01:01 pm

Helping drivers exercise truck driving safety is the American Council of Frame and Alignment Specialists, which is holding a two-day clinic that will help trucking companies with innovative ways to repair their vehicles, reported Heavy Duty Trucking magazine.

The clinic will be held at the Country Inn & Suites in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 24-25, and will cover a wide range of topics, including information regarding truck repair from the Department of Labor, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Occupational Safety and Hazard Agency, said the magazine.

Some of the specific issues addressed will include how shop accidents are not covered by insurance if the shop is found to be violating Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, and postings from the Department of Labor regarding workers' rights, reported the magazine.

It is important for trucking companies to take all of the proper security precautions when repairing trucks or else an accident can strike; this happened at a Paterson, New Jersey, truck repair shop, reported the North Jersey Record.

The paper said a fire at the facility damaged a car, tires and the interior of the truck repair shop, until it was subdued by firefighters 30 minutes after starting.
