Online truck driver training courses may lead to higher efficiency

Transportation professionals who wish to rise up in their industry may benefit from compliance training for truck drivers. These classes can help workers stay abreast of legislative changes that may affect their work.

Related courses may be of particular interest to drivers who are based in Vermont, as Senator Patrick Leahy announced his plans to pass a bill that would permit heavy trucks to travel on Interstate roads.

This move comes on the heels of the expiration of a federal pilot program that allowed these vehicles to use Interstates in Maine and Vermont. Leahy, who is working with Maine Senator Susan Collins on the bill, claims that passing this legislation could improve both states' economies, environments and road safety.

Leahy said that the current regulations say that "heavier trucks must travel over our smaller roadways, creating traffic and safety concerns and taking a toll on our already overburdened roads and bridges."

If this proposed legislation is passed, truck drivers who pass through Vermont and Maine may be able to complete jobs quickly and prevent on-the-road fatigue.
