Bus drivers subject to new rules alongside truckers
While the new rulings on the allowed trucking hours will alter the way many drivers will be operating, those who navigate big rigs are not the only ones to be affected by the law changes. Bus drivers will also be facing new regulations in the near future which will ensure trucking safety and protect all motors on the roadways, reports Bloomberg.
The rules for bus drivers and trucks have similarities, but the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will also be proposing some variants to the compliance laws. For example, bus operators across the country may face a reduction on the hours allowed to work per week.
This proposal was brought into consideration due to the increase in bus accidents happening over the years. New laws may need to be considered, especially since there are many more buses in operation commercially than in the past.
Truckers who have recently completed their CDL training may want to look into the recent changes that are being made to commercial driving laws before committing to a job on the road.
