Women in Trucking chooses new board member

Truck driving can sometimes be a challenging career choice, due to the long hours, sporadic schedules and occasional hazardous road conditions. However, many women decide to conquer the risks of trucking and make fulfilling and successful jobs out of it. Recently, the Women in Trucking organization, which supports female truckers, announced a change of hands in their board of directors.

Linda Caffee was newly appointed to the board due to her experience on the road as co-driver for FexEx with her husband.

She said that her new role will enable her to "continue to strive to improve herself by staying involved, reading and talking with other drivers as well as company representatives."

According to the organization's website, Women in Trucking was established to ensure equal opportunities for both men and women who have careers as truck drivers or who are interested in finding a job behind the wheel of a big rig. By providing advice on CDL training options and job support and offering occupational resources, the group aims to keep truck driving in a positive light and encourage others to partake in the flourishing industry.
