Wisconsin welcomes trucking fans to annual event

Trucks do not have to be covered in streamers to stand out during a parade. This August, the annual Waupun Truck-N-Show in Wisconsin plans to display more than 400 vehicles that will show off their shiniest chrome and most dazzling lights, states the event's website.

For the past 22 years, this event has welcomed big rig enthusiasts to the small town of Waupun to participate in a weekend's worth of fun events that cater towards the trucking crowd. Alongside the exciting truck parade will be concerts, truck beauty contests and tasty BBQ dinners.

On Saturday, drivers may attend the trucking seminar to have their questions answered about various facets of the industry, which may encourage those who have not yet completed their commercial driver's license, or CDL training, to do so and begin their trucking careers.

According to the Beaver Dam Daily Citizen, proceeds from the events at the truck festival will benefit the Special Olympics and Wisconsin's Make-A-Wish Foundation. Most of the shows and exhibits are free, but the dance party that completes the event on Saturday night has an admission fee.
