Trucks remain resilient in the face of flooding
Due to recent flooding in the Midwestern states, truck drivers remain diligent about completing their job despite trips being re-routed, reports Land Line.
North Dakota has had problems with levees being breached that were surrounding the city of Minot. Officials have ordered truckers to avoid the area and find alternative ways around the flooded region. Organizations such as the North Dakota Department of Transportation have stepped up to provide drivers with maps and tools that can alleviate extra stress caused by having to find new ways to reach their destinations.
According to The Des Moines Register, parts of Iowa are also battling flood conditions. The Mississippi River has retained so much rain that it is spilling over onto 22 miles of highway in the state.
President of the Iowa Motor Truck Association says she applauds truckers' efforts in managing the changes of routes and remaining positive.
Neville told the news source, "The trucking industry has always been very nimble, and the necessary adjustments are made to the routes with as little disruption as possible to the delivery of products."
