Trucking jobs becoming more readily available
With the Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasting a positive job market for truckers across the United States, those seeking jobs in the Gadsden, Leon and Wakulla counties in Florida would benefit from receiving the proper CDL training.
Heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers are seeing more job opportunities popping up with the economy beginning to turn around, but many different kinds of truckers are needed in Florida, according to Workforce Plus.
"Opportunities are not just available in long-haul driving, either," said Martha Compton, interim director of the Washington-Holmes Technical Center. "Tractor-trailer drivers, delivery service drivers and driver/sales workers are needed everywhere, so we’re hoping plenty of job seekers take this chance to step into a new career."
Dislocated workers are among those who should consider the appropriate training to become a truck driver, the source stated.
According to The Associated Press, the trucking industry could present job opportunities for veterans returning home after serving in the U.S. military.
The AP said many veterans have had problems finding jobs after they return home from service. However, many companies receive benefits from the government for bringing in military veterans, and they can also see benefits due to the skills that many veterans gained in the military.
