Trucking jobs becoming more available in the US
Truck Drivers America recently found that trucking is one of the few industries in the United States that has been growing at a steady rate, which means trucking jobs are more readily available, and truckers have a better chance at bringing home a competitive salary.
"Twelve months ago we were all very worried, not many jobs available, not a lot of freight movement, but what a difference a year can make," said Annette Carpenter, CEO of Truck Drivers America. "The ATA shows freight tonnage is higher as the economy continues to improve. We are looking forward to helping truck drivers get the jobs they desire with good trucking companies during 2012."
With the amount of open truck driving jobs available, CDL training is even more important. Having the appropriate training will make truckers look more attractive in the pool of applicants seeking jobs.
The growth of the trucking industry is tied to more general job growth, reported MySuburbanLife, a news source based in Brookfield, Illinois.
Jim Fergie, manager of employment services at workNet Dupage, told the website businesses such as tech and manufacturing are growing, which means an increase in jobs in the trucking industry.
