Trucking industry commits to driving for charity
While the trucking industry is used to produce goods and services between suppliers and consumers, there are other opportunities in which the sector does some good.
The American Trucking Associations (ATA) and Good360 announced that they partnered up to deliver essentials to two charities in Lewisburg, West Virginia, to ensure that those in need were given supplies to boost their quality of life.
West Virginia Congressman Nick Rahall was there for the delivery to the Family Refuge Center while members of the West Virginia Trucking Association were on-hand for both stops on the tour. Those who are a part of the sector noted what good the trucking industry does for the country.
"The trucking industry brings virtually everything we use daily," said Jeff Wade, a truck driver for Southeastern Freight Lines. "It is an honor to be involved in such an important delivery, and to be able to give back to those in need."
In order to participate in such charity events, truckers may want to consider brushing up with online truck driver safety training so they can deliver the goods safely and efficiently.
