Trucking event advocates community camaraderie with local drivers

Due to the massive trucks that often have a large presence on the highways, other motorists sometimes are wary of the trucking industry and its safety precautions on the road. However, last weekend, a festival called Titletown Trucker's Showdown sought to strengthen ties between the community and truckers by flaunting some decked-out big rigs, reports Fox 11 news in Wisconsin.

For two days, more than 30 truck drivers displayed their primped and polished vehicles and were judged on various categories for their efforts. The public was welcomed to see the talent and dedication that went into the event. Drivers from Wisconsin and other surrounding states received trophies for features such as paint jobs, decals and shine.

Linda Sharp, organizer and president of the Titletown Trucker's Showdown, said she hopes this program has an encouraging impact on the participants.

"We're here promoting a positive image to trucking and again the general public," she told the news source.

The entire festival was free and run by volunteers who are industry enthusiasts looking to promote trucking safety and awareness for all motorists, reports the event's website.
