Trucking companies may pass the increased fuel prices on to the consumers

The unfortunate side of business is that when costs rise they are usually reflected in the prices consumers eventually pay. It may come to no surprise to some that the recent increase in fuel prices are being funneled down to retailers for individuals to bear the cost.

For instance, Wisconsin's trucking companies recently announced that they will pass on the high fuel costs to consumers, the Leader-Telegram reports.


According to the American Automobile Association's Wisconsin branch, the cost of fuel in the Eau Claire metropolitan area averaged $4.12 per gallon, which is a dollar more than last year. Comparatively, diesel prices average about $4.08 per gallon in Wisconsin and throughout the nation.

Enrolling operators in online truck driver training courses may help companies save on fuel by educating their drivers to idle their vehicle less often and use global positioning systems (GPS) to run shorter routes.

"A number of our vendors have indicated that in the near future, tire prices will be going up as well," Bob Ayres, president of River City Transport based in Eau Claire, told the news source.
