Trucking Social Media held second annual convention
Trucking Social Media held its second annual Truck Driver Social Media Convention, allowing CDL drivers and other trucking officials to come together and celebrate the industry’s accomplishments.
“As social media has grown, positive change seekers within the industry have joined together to discuss thoughts, ideas and solutions that will best meet the needs of our nation’s drivers and the industry,” the Trucking Social Media website explained. “Their understanding and desire to build relationships through honesty, trust and transparency is creating a ‘Community of Trust’ for quality information, products and services they may provide.”
The two-day convention featured professional speakers, networking opportunities, discussions about the industry’s pressing issues and an open forum that fosters important conversations regarding the truck driving industry. Drivers could choose to compete in the Pride-in-your-Ride Truck Contest, where judges from Rigs & Rides Magazine surveyed the trucks looking for those with the most pride. The top three finalists won trophies and a mention in the winter edition of the magazine.
Topics discussed include truck driver health, CDL training options, the high number of open truck driving jobs and how social media can be used to generate a positive image of the industry.
The Truck Driver Social Media Convention was held on October 27-28, 2012, in Kansas City, Missouri.
