Truckers support great causes

Many trucking companies know that giving back to their surrounding communities is an important factor for running a successful business. Not only does it increase the trust and support of customers in the area, it also can boost morale and camaraderie when it comes to fleet management and rallying one’s drivers.

Recently, a few freight hauling businesses in Arizona sponsored a great event that the local residents could attend to admire some great classic cars, reports the Douglas Dispatch. Called The Douglas Street Rods Rock-a-Billy Car Show, this celebration of antique vehicles drew dozens of hot-rod enthusiasts to the town, all the while raising money to assist veterans of war. Daniel Pena Trucking and MEP Trucking were among the companies who helped fund the event.

Sometimes truck drivers take it upon themselves to show their support and help out those in need. According to The Caithness Courier, the trucking couple Dan and Dolina Mackenzie volunteered their time and their American Peterbuilt big rig to make a road trip benefiting the Macmillan Cancer Support group. These trucking fans put their compliance training for truck drivers and experience to the test by driving great lengths to raise funds, in connection with grants given by the Northern Nashville Country Music Club for the driver’s efforts.
