Truckers honored for accident free driving

Celebrating excellence in truck driving safety, Holland freight lines truck driver Warren Clark was recently awarded a plaque, gold ring and leather jacket by Holland President Mike Naatz for driving more than 3 million miles accident free, reported the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

"I look forward to adverse weather," Clark told the news source. "Anybody can drive a truck on a flat road with sunny skies, but it takes a good driver to get through snow. I’ve got two more days to work this week, and that’s what I’m going to do. The day you think you know everything about driving is the day to quit, and I’m still learning."

The paper said the ceremony to celebrate Clark's excellence as a truck driver was held in Ringgold, Georgia, where Clark reached the historic milestone.

According to Land Line magazine, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association is also celebrating some of the top truck drivers for excellence in their profession.

The magazine said the OOIDA recently honored 12 truckers through the Safe Driving Award Program, which celebrates accident free and safe commercial driving.
