Truck company goes pink

A Californian trucking company is taking its support for breast cancer awareness one step further. According to KMTR News, Stidham Trucking has painted one of its big rigs entirely pink, adored with ribbons and other decorations. The massive vehicle will be on display at various events this fall, and recently made an appearance at the Race for the Cure in the town of Eugene.

Richard Stidham, owner of Stidham Trucking, commissioned the truck for his driver Steve Schuetz, whose wife survived breast cancer. Schuetz is using the pink truck for his daily freight hauls.

“Everybody driving down the freeway is thumbing you up, waving, taking pictures,” Schuetz told the news source.

Those who are involved with the new paint job hope it inspires others to support those who may be suffering from cancer and sign up for regular screenings to detect any issues early on.

The Stidham Trucking website says that this transportation company has been in business for more than 50 years, hauling freight material across the West Coast in their dozens of flatbed trailers. Truckers who have recently completed their CDL training and who would like to work for a company that also gives back to the community should consider businesses like these that sponsor great events for good causes.
