Continental Tire the Americas recently announced a multimillion dollar investment in its ContiLifeCycle tread rubber plant in central Mexico, which will be able to growing demand for its tire products.

"This expansion allows us to accommodate the growing need for retreaded truck tires in our current markets, and to comfortably expand as we reach even further across the Americas," said Paul Williams, vice president for Continental, at the company's annual meeting for its commercial vehicle tire unit in Bonita Springs, Florida.

The recent investment will allow Continental to double the size of its plant in central Mexico, to allow for more space to store raw materials, as well as provide room for manufacturing.

Continental's clients will be able to have better fleet management, knowing that the company will be able to meet tire needs. Trucking jobs may also increase due to the plant's expansion, allowing more trucking companies to be serviced in the Americas.

At the recent meeting, ContiLifeCycle manager John Barnes said Continental has now expanded its offering to 14 ContiTread tread patterns.
