Texas welcomes hay donations from Indiana following drought
Despite the weather moving into the cooler fall months, parts of Texas are still reeling from the difficult dry summer that left many of their livestock malnourished and their crops dried out. It may take a long time for Texan ranchers to recover from the devastatingly severe weather they faced this past year. Fortunately, truckers and farmers from across the country are reaching out to struggling Texas residents by donating hay and other supplies to the damaged areas for free by hauling it across the nation’s highways.
The state of Indiana recently announced its plans to move seven trucks full of hay to Texan livestock farms. The initiative is being organized by the Indiana Motor Truck Association, which has received many donations from local companies and business wishing to help out their fellow truckers and farmers.
Trucking companies involved in the donations include Transcorr, Bestway Express and Grammer Industries. The American Trucking Association (ATA) will also take part in this long haul, which will occur right before its annual meeting this month that will take place in Grapevine, Texas.
