Despite uncertain economic times, some trucking ventures are thriving and enjoying great success within the industry. Recently, a Texas-based company was recognized for its business-savvy skills and was ranked among other leading companies in the region.

Jetco Delivery, which specializes in freight hauling, was awarded a 2011 Enterprise Champion honor and named one of the top 100 companies in the Houston area. Jetco has roughly 90 trucks maintained by diligent fleet management owners. It handles material transport and freight brokerage services.

The honor was announced at the 2011 Fast 100 Awards Ceremony. Jetco received the recognition for its commitment to community service and protection of high standard of safety, including having drivers with CDL training and investing in top-notch trucks.

A feature of Jetco Delivery that stands out among the rest is that every truck is installed with a GPS system. Brain Fielkow, chief executive officer and president of the company, said these tools ensure truck driving safety and security of the costly cargo.

"Customers can track shipments and better anticipate delivery [with GPS], which will help improve their planning and logistics schedule," he said. "This translates to the peace-of-mind that every shipper needs."
