Tennessee trucking companies are looking for certified drivers
Many of those who are taking their CDL training coursework to become future truckers know that the industry is experiencing an upswing in job opportunities, which is a disparity next to the high unemployment statistics nationwide. Not only are there a significant number of jobs, but many new truckers are also finding employment quickly, reports WRCB News in Tennessee.
After coursework in compliance training for truck drivers is completed, some drivers are acquiring jobs immediately with local companies through recruitment. Trucking businesses are in need of drivers as the demand for hauling freight rises, so some have begun to speak with students who are in licensing schools to hire them as soon as they complete training.
Mark Shepherd, a Tennessee resident who recently received his CDL license, says he looks forward to driving after being laid off for a few years.
"Don't hesitate," Shepherd told the news source. "If you've got a clean driving record, this is where you need to be."
According to WDEF News in Tennessee, the state’s law enforcement and governmental officials are endorsing this type of employment, saying that investing in a licensing course will often enable drivers to begin employment at competitive salaries.
