The technology company, Qualcomm announced at the recent National Private Truck Council's Annual Expo a new proof-of-delivery system, Fleet Owner reports.

Officials told the media outlet that the proof-of-delivery application is designed for private fleets, dedicated logistics operations and specialized carriers. Furthermore, it will automate work assignments such as barcode scanning, exception management and signature capture, which is set to release this summer.

Operators who use the wireless connectivity have indicated that it improves time to invoice through a real-time delivery notification.

"By collaborating with Blue Dot, an industry leader in mobile workforce management solutions, we will ensure that our proof of delivery application delivers maximum value.," Norm Ellis, vice president of sales, services and marketing for Qualcomm Enterprise Services, told the news source.

Online truck driving regulation training may help individuals stay up to date on new technology and news that impacts the freight hauling industry.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly 8,000 new job opportunities are projected to be available for heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers over the next seven years.
