A recent tax credit in Minnesota will make it easier for veterans to get the CDL training they need to be hired by trucking companies, according to Hometown Source, a news source covering Minnesota.

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar recently introduced businesses to the tax credit, which gives veterans who were drivers while in the armed forces an opportunity to take advantage of skills they obtained in the military, said the website.

"This tax credit gives Minnesota businesses one more reason to hire our veterans, and I will continue to work to ensure that our soldiers can use their skills learned in the military to secure good jobs at home," Klobuchar told the news source.

The website said employers can receive as much as $9,600 per veteran they bring on board from the Work Opportunity Tax Credit or up to $6,240 for tax-exempt organizations.

According to New Hampshire Public Radio, veterans also have an opportunity to gain the skills necessary to gain employment in the trucking profession by enrolling in the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities at the University of Connecticut.
