Southern states looking for truck drivers in tough economy
Although many states in the south are experiencing high unemployment rates, several trucking companies are calling for more qualified drivers that are needed in the industry. Louisiana especially has demands for truck drivers who can haul freight, which is always needed regardless of uncertain economic times, reports The Shreveport Times.
Some experts say that those who wish to begin a career in trucking should complete compliance training for truck drivers, which can help the hiring process move along by showing companies additional dedication to this field of work. Many Louisiana residents and other individuals throughout the country are utilizing CDL training schools to acquire these big rig jobs that are plentiful and available to qualified individuals.
For example, Schneider National, a well-known trucking company, is introducing 500 new positions within its fleet for truckers interested in hauling fuel across the country, reports The Journal Sentinel. These driving spots can be filled in seven different states, including New York, New Mexico and Louisiana. State locals are welcome to apply as are those who live out-of-state, who may be compensated for re-location by the company.
