Created: Tuesday, February 28th, 2012 02:01 pm

According to The News of Cumberland County, a local university in New Jersey recently announced it is offering a 6-week course that provides the necessary instruction for a driver to earn CDL training to become a member of the trucking industry.

The news source said the course will give truckers the opportunity to acquire occupational knowledge necessary for truckers, including information that allows truckers to acquire the skills needed to gain employment with a trucking company. The course will also give students to opportunity to take the test in order for them to receive a Hazmat endorsement.

Truck driving jobs are expected to be in abundance in the upcoming years, according to the McCook Daily Gazette, a daily newspaper in Nebraska.

The newspaper said the trucking industry will be looking for approximately 2 million employees by 2018. While courses like the one being offered in New Jersey are one way that interested individuals can enter the trucking industry, online CDL training is another possibility. Online CDL courses offer maximum flexibility without sacrificing quality of instruction, making it easy for employers to take on new hires and quickly get them up to speed and on the road.
