Truckers can tell the public about the perks and benefits that come along with being involved in the industry, but having someone learn on their own is another experience all together. Recently, news correspondent Noel McLaren from TV 6 Fox News in Michigan took a CDL training course to try out trucking first hand as a journalist.

For the news story, McLaren got behind the wheel of a big rig and found many of the necessary moves challenging. She had to cut close corners, brake quickly and back up without hitting the traffic cones behind her. During the segment, McLaren also spoke with several local truckers about their decision to choose the occupation they did and what it truly takes to have a job on the road.

Individuals who are considering a job in trucking can take compliance training for truck drivers courses to get a feel for what this career entails. With fright hauling demands continually on the rise, learning how to navigate a big rig may be a smart move whether switching career goals or starting out in the working world for the first time.
