According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), individuals who are interested in taking driver safety training classes should check with prospective employers before they enroll. Fortunately, there are many convenient learning options - such as online courses - that can help prospective operators earn their CDL and get on the road.

Individuals who are proactive about their driver safety training may be eligible for high-paying positions, as some trucking companies are increasing their pay scales for valuable employees.

For instance, Truckinginfo reports that Prime Inc. recently increased its starting wages from 34 cents per mile to 41 cents per mile.

Company officials told the news source that this move represents a genuine raise, as opposed to a move toward pre-recession salaries. They added that the organization never resorted to pay cuts during the economic downturn.

The BLS reports that drivers are typically awarded pay raises according to seniority, experience as well as the size and type of vehicle they operate. Individuals who have completed CDL driver training over the internet may increase their chances of earning high wages.
