In an effort to conserve expensive fuel, many companies are exploring ways to reduce the rear drag on trucks, according to The Trucker.

ATDynamics, a company that specializes in rear-drag technology, recently received more than 4,000 orders since last fall. Officials told the news source that the 14 million real-world miles have proven that the business's fuel efficiency claims for his TrailerTail product.

"Werner Enterprises is dedicated to providing its customers the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible transportation services," said Steve Phillips, senior vice president of operations at Werner Enterprises. "Werner has invested significant resources to evaluate advanced fuel-saving technology with the potential to exceed EPA SmartWay requirements."

Companies may want to enroll their employees in online truck driving training courses to help new and experienced operators learn the best methods in fuel conservation.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the price of diesel currently stands at $3.93 per gallon. California-based companies pay nearly $4.26.
