Next year's chairman elected for the ATA

Some change of hands are happening within the American Trucking Associations (ATA) that may affect the future of the organization's influence on the truck industry. At the recent annual meeting of the ATA's board of directors, Dan England was named the next official chairman, replacing Barbara Windsor of Maryland.

England, who resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, will be the 67th chairman in the history of the ATA. He said he looks forward to his new position and plans to monitor the new rules and regulations that are being discussed for drivers and fleet management owners. His term will last one full year as ambassador and spokesperson for the ATA.

"The last few years have been difficult for our industry and our nation, but I'm confident that regardless of our challenges, trucking and ATA will continue to lead the country toward economic recovery," England said during the conference.

Truckers who have recently completed their CDL training may want to stay informed about the ongoings in the ATA, for it is the largest national trade association that represents the trucking industry.
