New truck stops add modern technologies and services

As the trucking industry continues to boom and new drivers who have just completed their CDL training flood the roadways, companies in the truck stop business are doing what they can to accommodate those who make their livelihood on the road.

Recently, Love's Travel Stop opened their second Indiana facility in Whitestown, reports Trucking Info. This new truck stop boasts 90 spaces to park big rigs, showering areas, a game room and CAT scales. Mostly all of the amenities are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for truckers to utilize while driving through the state.

Pilot Flying J truck stops are not only opening new rest areas, but they have been adding IdleAir components to their already popular stops. These hookups allow truckers to use their heat, air-conditioning, internet or electricity for half the costs it takes to idle the big rig.

"IdleAir is part of our effort to improve the health and well-being of our customers with clean facilities, upgraded showers, and healthy food options," Mark Hazelwood, executive vice president of Pilot truck stops, said in a statement.
