vRecently, Texas has been experiencing some hardships due to the dry weather that is harming many of the state’s local crops. Truckers in several parts of the country are pitching in to help those recover their livelihood and restore their farms by hauling hay supplies from far away locations, reports The Republic.

Richard Hay, an Amite County agent, says his region of Mississippi is doing what they can to make the longer hauls of hay to Texas to help those who need it in the drought-stricken state.

"It's very uncommon for us to be shipping hay like this, but I'm glad we've got it to do it," he told the news source. "Farmers take care of farmers."

Truckers in other states are also performing longer hauls than usual to lend a hand to Texas. According to The Star-Telegram, while keeping in mind trucker health and truck driving safety, those in the industry are offering to complete expanded routes to make sure Texan farmers can still receive top-quality freight in these difficult circumstances.
