Manufacturing continues to increase and keep trucking demands on the upswing

Despite the uncertainly of the U.S. economy, the trucking industry has been maintaining a steady upwards pace in business and experts predict freight demand will rise in the near future, reports Fleet Owner.

A recent survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) found that 90 percent of the top 60 executives from the biggest national trucking companies are preparing for an influx in hauling freight.

This may be based on the 1.8 percent increase of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) for last quarter, which, in turn, causes more trucks to be needed to transport the manufactured goods.

Barry Misthal, who represents PwC, says fleet management owners who were interviewed for the survey remain positive and will implement new methods of growth in the future.

"[Trucking companies] are planning major new investments to introduce new products and services, expand their geographic reach and undertake business acquisitions to bolster growth," he told the news source.

According to Truckline, the tonnage increase rose again last June. Since trucking demands are increasing, drivers who wish to obtain a job in this prosperous industry may consider online truck driver training courses to become best qualified for a trucker job.
