Trucking companies often play a large role in their surrounding communities by boosting the local economy, providing jobs and, overall, having a positive impact on the resident's daily lifestyle. Recently, the Ahern and Associate's Trucking and Logistics business gave back to those who live near their company in thanks for the neighborhood's support of the business.

Andy Ahern, chief executive officer of Ahern and Associates, said he was impressed by the number of people who answered the need for funds to help St. Mary's Food Bank in Phoenix, Arizona.

He added that the company "had donations from some of the largest carriers in the industry for thousands of dollars all the way down to individual employees giving what they could, even if it was only a dollar."

St. Mary's Food Bank has received monetary grants from Ahern and Associate's during their Christmas in July food drive for the past 11 years. The freight hauling company asked other truck businesses and fleet management owners to contribute what they could to the event. St. Mary's uses 96 cents of every dollar to invest in those who are in need within the community.
