Job fairs are offering truckers new opportunities nationwide
Although the job market still seems unsteady across the country, the trucking industry is continuing to enjoy a boom in demand for freight hauling opportunities. Due to this need, some trucking companies are advertising positions at job fairs to offer spots within their business to qualified drivers.
In Columbus, Georgia, there will be an opportunity to apply for trucking positions this month through the Waggoners Trucking Company, which specializes in hauling cars, reports WLTZ 38 News. There are currently 80 job openings that need to be filled. The fleet management owners and operators will be looking for drivers who are over 23 years old and with previous trucking experience.
The Department of Labor in Lincoln, Nebraska, welcomes war veterans to find out about trucking job opportunities at a job fair this month held at the Southeast Community College in town, reports The Journal Star. Represented at this event are some companies in need of potential drivers, including Crete Carriers and JTL Trucking.
Truckers may want to complete CDL training coursework or study the new CSA 2010 compliance rules, before they start the application process when looking to begin a career on the road.
