Focusing on truck driving safety can benefit operators' families
Many commercial vehicle drivers have families who are constantly concerned about their relative's well-being on the road. Operators who keep trucking safety in mind while they work may be able to keep their loved ones at ease.
In addition, safe drivers may be able to reap certain benefits for their families. For example, professionals in this field who have served their employers well could receive help paying for their kids' college education.
USA Truck is one of the latest companies to introduce a tuition assistance programs for its workers. The dry van truckload carrier recently announced the launch of its USA Truck Scholarship Program.
The financial aid packages will be available to children of the company's employees who are pursuing a postsecondary education. Qualified applicants my submit their materials through March 1, and the winners will be announced in April.
Cliff Beckham, USA Truck's president and CEO, said that this initiative is a part of the company's efforts to "recognize that our driver employees and those who assist them in providing safe and efficient service to our customers are essential to our success."
