FMCSA to explain new rules to commercial drivers next month publicly
When there are major rule changes within the commercial driving industry that affect trucker health and truck driving safety, some individuals may be confused about the added regulations. However, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is acknowledging these types of concerns by holding special sessions that will explain these laws and answer any lingering questions, reports The Trucker.
This January, the FMCSA is turning its attention to commercial bus drivers who will be specifically affected by some new rules, which have been the first changes made to bus laws in decades. Those who drive buses that carry passengers are now limited to 60 or 70 hour work weeks, depending on their experience and types of vehicles they drive. All of the changes will be outlined in the upcoming public statement.
According to the FMCSA website, this organization was created to protect and regulate the commercial trucking and bus industry throughout the country. They have sanctioned other safety initiatives like the CSA 2010 compliance rules a couple of years ago to keep all motorists safe on the nation's highways.
