Employment opportunities for Indiana truckers arise

Created: Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 05:01 pm

Indiana-based truckers who have recently completed their CDL training or those simply looking for a change have some new job opportunities headed their way. The C.R. England Global Transportation company is creating roughly 35 new jobs in the area through outreach programs and recruitment.

The business specializes in refrigerated trucking and hauling this type of perishable material to various parts of the state. With the new employment initiative, truckers are welcome to receive additional training from C.R. England Global, which will, in turn, become an opportunity for a career with the business.

Many of the old buildings and structures are being renovated to accommodate for the training and office space as well. The state is providing some of this funding in order to boost Indiana’s economy and help lower the unemployment rate that remains high throughout the country.

"Distribution and logistics is one of our target industry sectors. We’ve heard many times about the shortage of qualified truck drivers," Gary Hackman, official from the local county government, said in a statement. "[This program will] assist in reducing the critical shortage in a much needed employment sector."
