Decisions being made on Best Fleets to Drive For awards
The selections for the annual Best Fleets to Drive For awards is well underway, hosted by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA). According to Trucking Info, the 20 nominees will be chosen by CarriersEdge, an online CDL training and certification company, under two categories - those employing company drivers and owner-operator businesses.
A sponsor of the survey and contest is Marsh Canada, which provides insurance and services for trucking companies nationwide. Officials from the company say that they are honored to be a part of such a positive initiative in the trucking industry.
"The award continually sets higher standards for the industry and provides examples of highly effective programs and practices that other companies will hopefully learn from," Greg St. Croix, senior vice president of Marsh Canada, said in a statement.
The survey taken on the potential winners included a myriad of question about their operations and services, reports the award's website. Some inquiries included were average annual income of drivers, benefits packages, turnover rates and incentive programs. The top 20 companies will be announced at the TCA's annual convention in Florida this March.
